There are many things you can do without and still achieve massive success online. You can succeed without a product of your own. All you'll need to do is know how to promote other people's products and services.

You can succeed without a list. You can get the repeat exposure with an RSS-enabled blog. You can even get along with a pretty ugly site and still build success online if the ugly site has great content or some other value for those who visit.

However, if you don't have traffic, you simply don't exist online. If you don't have massive traffic, you can't be a huge success online. Ask anyone who has achieved anything online and they'll tell you that traffic is the life blood of any online business.

Whatever the route you want to take: List building, mini sites, content sites, etc. You must have tons of traffic to achieve any form of success.

And when we talk about traffic, we are talking about high quality traffic. Yes, there are some adverts that promise a million visitors for just $10. That's not the kind we are talking about here. Those are trash. The only thing they do for you is use up your bandwidth.

When we talk about traffic we mean real people visiting your site because your site has what they want. We mean people who will take actions that only humans can take.

So, if you are starting out, it is certainly a great idea to first ask yourself how you intend to get your traffic. If you set off without asking and answering that question, you'll end up as one of those 90% unsuccessful sites.
